1. Organization

The 1st Yeosu International Webfest is organized by the Yeosu International Webfest Organizing Committee and managed by the Yeosu International Webfest Festival Executive Committee.

2. Purpose

The Yeosu International Webfest supports the independent and free spirit of experimentation and explores new aesthetic and technical possibilities of contemporary web content. It aims to actively introduce these directors to Korean audiences. This will lead to a rich web content culture and contribute to the development of Korean web content.

3. Date

The 1st Yeosu International Webfest will be held from September 4th to September 6th, 2024, for 3 days in Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do.

4. Webfest Program and Awards

The program of the 1st Yeosu International Webfest will consist of various non-competitive categories in addition to the competitive categories.

5. Submission Information

5-1. Submission Conditions

– Web Content

Videos longer than 10 minutes (webseries, short films, dramas, movies, independent feature films, experimental films, animation, etc.)

– Short Form

Short videos of 3 minutes or less (up to 10 minutes).

– Music Video

Video content that is entirely accompanied by music or song.

5-2. How to Submit

– Submission Deadline: July 7, 2024 (Tuesday)

– Entries can only be submitted online and must be submitted using the method below.

6. Selection

– Submitted works will be reviewed by a preliminary jury organized and commissioned by the Yeosu International Webfest, and only selected works will be notified individually by July 27, 2024. Once the screening of the work has been decided, it cannot be canceled for any reason.

7. Submission and Return of Screenings

Works accepted for screening must provide any additional materials requested by Webfest for publicity purposes and a high quality digital screening copy within the requested deadline.

7-1. Shipping costs for works accepted for screening in competition are the responsibility of the exhibitor. Webfest will be responsible for the return costs of the work, and transportation to other events will be subject to the usual rules.

7-2. For works accepted for screening in the non-competitive Invitational category, WebFest will cover the round-trip transportation costs incurred if the exhibitor uses an official carrier. Transportation to other events will be subject to the usual rules.

8. Subtitles

Selected works will be screened in their original language, and in principle, English subtitled versions will be screened for non-English speaking works. The final screening format may be changed for smooth screening, including subtitling in Korean.

9. Publicity

Yeosu International Webfest may use the promotional video (trailer) provided by the exhibitor for publicity as it is, and may arbitrarily produce and use up to 10% of the total screened work, up to a maximum of 3 minutes.

10. Data Management

10-1. The Yeosu International WebFest shall provide the materials and videos of the work to the exhibitor upon request for the screening of the opening ceremony, awards, etc.

10-2. The Yeosu International Webfest is responsible for the storage of the materials and screening copies of the works, and in the event of damage or loss of the screening copies, the Yeosu International Webfest shall compensate the producer or distributor only for the production cost of one screening copy.

11. Post-Webfest Screenings

The screened works, including the winning works, may be re-screened at screenings organized or sponsored by Yeosu International Webfest with the consent of the copyright holder.

12. Copyright

Copyrights such as music or videos used in the entries must be resolved by the entrants themselves. If the entry is found to be plagiarized, imitated, copyright infringement, or in violation of election laws even after the award, the award will be canceled and the prize money will be returned.

13. Force Majeure

In the event of natural disasters and social crises, changes may be made, and related matters may be discussed with the entrants.

14. Effect of Contract

The above regulations shall be deemed to be agreed upon and effective upon submission of the application form. Yeosu International Webfest reserves the right to decide on matters not covered in the above regulations.
